• This book was a great read. It is obvious the author has done her research. The historical details are fascinating. In spite of May's questionable actions, she is a likable heroine and captures the reader's sense of social consciousness. I highly recommend this book for those who like strong women characters and historical fiction set in the south.

• A well crafted story that held my interest throughout. From the accurate descriptions of old Atlanta to May's exploits, the story never slows down. The fact that it's based on actual events is fascinating and makes me want to read more. Well done-

• This story, based on true events, keeps you intrigued. Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop. Miss May is a handful of a women and surprisingly resourceful. Especially enjoyed all the Atlanta landmark references since I grew up here. You can't help rooting for May even with all her flaws. Never get in the way of a determined woman!

Wow - hard to believe  is just a few weeks away. Although here in Atlanta we have to endure a couple of yellow weeks, spring is gorgeous and I can't wait. An escape for a week on a southern Caribbean cruise only whetted my appetite for warm weather. And by the way, look who I found - Elvis was alive and well on the Carnival Conquest! Matt Martin, of Ontario, Canada, is by far the best Elvis impersonator I've seen. Veteran's Day. So many mixed emotions. Pride, love, sadness, and grief.
The two veterans closest to me are my brother and my daddy.
My brother Mike lost his battle with agent orange induced diabetes 6 years ago. He was a man everyone loved: a good son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. RIP Mike.

My daddy served as one of the greatest generation in WWII. Fortunately he returned home unscathed to his wife and daughter and went on to have another daughter, ME!, and two sons, one of whom was Mike. Love you Daddy and thanks to all the others of the greatest generation.

Finally, our family has a long and rich heritage of veterans from the American Revolution to Vietnam. If you love the Alabama song Proud to be an American you will love this video link. I may yet discover other family veterans, but this is a tribute to all those I know of at this time.
