Hello!

I am Janet Hogan Chapman, aka "GeorgiaJanet." I was born, raised, and lived all my life in Georgia.  Growing up in Atlanta in the 1950s and 60s could be wonderful, traumatic, exhilarating, and frightening. It was all of those things for me at some point or another. Those rich experiences are stories that lay dormant in my mind, just waiting their coming resurrection. I have been a life-long learner and writer. My varied life experiences include children’s party costume character, caterer, pediatric Physician’s Assistant, Preschool Minister, Elementary Teacher, and University Professor, just to name a few! These adventures have added perspectives that are reflected in my writing. I have published education related materials and have just finished the manuscript of my first novel, May: Madams, Moonshine, Morphine, and Murder in the Underbelly of Atlanta. I am now in the process of completing a memoir. You can read more about me and my writing at my website, www.georgiajanet.com.  What are your thoughts about the South? Do you think there is something that distinguishes Southern writing or authors?
